The Moen 1423 is a genuine replacement balancing spool specifically designed for Moentrol one-handle tub and shower faucets. It functions to equalize the pressure of incoming hot and cold water supplies, preventing sudden temperature changes (shower shock) and ensuring a consistent water temperature.
