They said to unscrew it after I had concluded from YouTube the old cartridge was supposed to just slide out. It threaded out as they said and saved me buying a cartridge extractor and a hernia. The American Standard 023529-0070A is a genuine replacement 47mm ceramic disc faucet valve cartridge designed for single-handle American Standard faucets, including the Reliant + and Ceramix series. It controls both water volume and temperature and is used to prevent leaks and drips in compatible faucets.
