The Moen 1423 is a genuine Moen replacement balancing spool used for single-handle Moentrol tub and shower faucets. Its function is to balance the hot and cold water pressure, which prevents sudden temperature changes (known as “shower shock”).

  • The balancing spool ensures consistent water temperature by equalizing the pressure of the incoming hot and cold water supplies. A stuck or faulty spool can lead to problems controlling water temperature or result in only hot or cold water flow.
  • It is designed specifically for use with Moen Moentrol single-handle tub and shower faucets and valves (e.g., models 3150, 3170, 3175, and 3189). It replaces OEM part number 132343.
  • 2 1/4″ length
  • For pressure balance faucets
