The Kohler GP500520 is a replacement Pressure Balancing Unit (PBU) designed for Rite-Temp single-handle shower valves. It maintains a constant water temperature by balancing hot and cold water pressures, preventing sudden “shower shocks” if someone elsewhere in the house flushes a toilet or runs a faucet.
